Brazilian stone sector focuses on U.S. residential market
Representatives of Brazil’s natural-stone sector conducted a new mission to the United States between October 20–22, 2025. The delegation, led by the vice-president of the Centrorochas, visited Washington, D.C. to meet influential market players, government bodies and economic institutions. The main objective was to highlight the role of Brazilian natural stone in the U.S. residential construction supply chain.
As a result of the mission, a meeting with Citi Bank is scheduled in Brazil for December, with Centrorochas invited to discuss residential construction in the U.S. market.
During the visits, Centrorochas representatives emphasized that Brazil should be seen as a strategic and complementary supplier — not a competitor — to the domestic American stone industry. The narrative is clear: while U.S. quarries mainly serve floors, facades, monuments and public works, Brazil offers semi-processed natural stone products suited for kitchen and bathroom countertops, adding diversity and stability to the supply chain.
The mission also included dialogues with government agencies, think-tanks, private sector players, and cultural-diplomatic bodies. Among the spaces visited: the Brazilian Embassy in the U.S., the U.S. Chamber of Commerce (via the “Council of the Americas”), and the renowned strategic studies center CSIS. In those meetings, delegates not only reinforced the competitive advantage and quality of Brazilian stone but also addressed sustainability and worker safety issues related to silica — showing Brazil’s commitment to responsible extraction and processing techniques.
According to Centrorochas, the initiatives aim to broaden dialogue with U.S. stakeholders, strengthen Brazil’s position as a trusted supplier, and consolidate Brazilian natural stone as a key raw material for residential construction in America — especially at a time when global supply chains are being restructured and demand for natural, premium materials is growing.
